How deep or quickly you go under hypnosis depends totally on your willingness. 2. Is the state of hypnosis similar to that of asleep? Not at all. Under hypnosis you are still very much awake so you can get back to full conscious awareness in no time. Most people feels very relaxed and calm, so you might feel as if you had a very pleasant good night sleep. 3. Will I be aware of what's happening during hypnosis? Absolutely. Because of the hightened awareness under hypnosis, you will be fully aware of everything that is going on. 4. Will I be made to blurt out things that I do not want to speak out? No. You are totally in control of your mind just as when you are fully awake. 5. What will happen if I ever get 'stuck' in hypnosis? It is impossible to get stuck in hypnosis. 6. Is hypnosis harmful in any way? Hypnosis is safe in most cases. Some exceptions are applied to people suffering from a psychotic condition or epilepsy. If you are currently undergoing medical treatment we strongly advise you consult your GP before seeking hypnotherapy. 7. How do I know if I am under hypnosis? Most people feel deeply relaxed and calm under hypnosis. It is also common not to feel any difference from waking state. Some people may experience some noticeable sensations in their body such as tingling sensation in hands. 8. Will you do an one-off quick fix to help me with panic attacks? One session suggestion therapy may be possible to help you bring down the panic attack to more manageable level, but you would likely need more sessions to treat panic attacks. 9. How many sessions will I need? It varies with each person since how each person′s mind works is quite different from one person to another and each person present different problems to be worked with. Quit smoking therapy requires a single session. Most conditions require from three to six sessions but more complex conditions may require longer. 10. How long does each session last? Quit smoking session takes approx. 2 hours and other sessions usually last around one hour, however we recommend you spare further half an hour in order to make sure you get enough time for each therapy session. 11. How long does the effect last? Any changes that are made at the subconscious level will stay there unless you happen to change it again consciously or unconsciouly. 12. Can you guarantee the success with hypnotherapy? It is irresponsible to claim a guaranteed success in any health services whether orthodox or complementary medicine. If you have a wholehearted desire for a change, you would have a greater chance of sucess. 13. I don′t see any pictures when I′m under hypnosis. Is it normal? Not everyone see pictures. People have different modalities and some are more visual than auditory, others just experience feelings or thoughts. 14. Is hypnotherapy better than self-hypnosis? Both have their own merits. Learning to master self-hypnosis is excellent in many ways and we thoroughly recommend it. Hypnotherapy can work effectively because you can be free from the logical analytical thought processes of the conscious mind while working with the therapist. So you can bypass the conscious critical faculty and work at the subconscious level for a positive change more smoothly. 15. What protection do I have? Sumiko is a member of professional bodies such as the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR). Both organisations are recognised by the General Hypnotherapy Standard′s Council (GHSC). Any complains can be addressed directly to the therapist or to the professional organisation. 16. How can I book the session with you? You can make an appointment by telephone or email. If your call is directed to the answer machine, please leave your name and telephone number, and the therapist will return your call as soon as possible.
